We at RSG Group USA, Inc. d/b/a Gold’s Gym (together with subsidiaries of RSG Group USA, Inc., “Gold’s Gym,” “us,” “we,” “our,” “the Company”) respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Notice explains how and why Gold’s Gym collects, uses, and discloses your personal information safely and securely, and how you may exercise your rights with respect to your information.
When this Privacy Notice Applies
This Privacy Notice applies to our collection of information when you interact with any Gold’s Gym services (collectively, “Services”), which include Gold’s Gym owned and operated websites, interactive tools and mobile apps (collectively, “Sites”) that link to this Privacy Notice; Gold’s Gym branded company-owned fitness clubs (“Gold’s Gym Clubs”); the products and services we offer; and in-person, over-the-phone, and electronic communications and services provided by Gold’s Gym either with customer support personnel or a software agent using artificial intelligence (also known as an “AI assistant”).

When this Privacy Notice Does not Apply
Gold’s Gym Franchise LLC also franchises rights to independent third parties (“Franchisees”) to own and operate gyms under the Gold’s Gym brand pursuant to franchise agreements (a “Franchise”). As explained in more detail here, this Privacy Notice does not apply to collection, use, and disclosure of your information by Franchisees, except as described in this notice. Please contact your gym if you have any questions about their data collection and use, or to exercise any rights where applicable.

For purposes of this Privacy Notice, “personal information” means any information that is linked or reasonably linkable to an identified or identifiable individual.
There are several ways we may obtain personal information about you, including through (1) information you provide to us, such as when you visit our Sites, register as a member or for a free pass, communicate with us, including via our AI assistant, use the Gold’s Gym Clubs, or purchase merchandise; (2) information we automatically collect; (3) information we receive from third parties; and (4) combining information from different sources. This includes data that identifies you personally whether directly or indirectly.

We use cookies and similar technologies to automatically or passively collect Usage Information to administer our Sites (and Services), understand how you use our Sites and analyze trends, and gather information about our users, as described above. These technologies may include small data files stored on your hard drive or in device memory or electronic images or strings of HTML, JavaScript, or URL code that can be added within emails, online ads, and websites, and help us to improve our Sites and Services and your experience, enhance security, evaluate which areas and features of our Services are popular, and measure total usage. They can also enable the delivery of relevant and personalized advertisements to you across the Internet. Examples of these technologies include cookies, SDKs (software development kits), web beacons/pixels, local shared objects, and UTM codes/tags. We enable third parties we engage to deploy such technologies on our Sites to help us analyze how our users are using the Sites (and Services) and to deliver advertising.

Our Use of Google Analytics and Advertising Technologies
Our Sites use technology provided by Google to facilitate advertising and reporting. We implement Google Analytics cookies to collect personal information about you when you visit our Site for purposes of remarketing, impression reporting, and demographic and interest reporting. This information includes browsing and Usage Information and can be combined with other data related to you collected through Google’s advertising cookie or other third-party technology. You can opt out of the use of this technology through the Google Analytics opt-out browser add on, Google Ad Settings, and/or Ad Settings for mobile apps.

Our Services may contain links to third party websites, which are clearly identified and will direct you from Gold’s Gym’s site to a third-party site. Gold’s Gym does not direct or oversee the information policies, procedures or other practices for companies other than Gold’s Gym. If accessing a third-party site via a link, you will be directed to that third-party’s website and governed by their privacy notice and policies. We encourage you to review their privacy notices to learn more about what information is collected, how it is used, and how it is stored.
Our Services may contain links to our Franchise micro-sites for the join online process, which is clearly identified and will direct you from Gold’s Gym’s website to the local independent Franchisee for your selected location. When you access a Franchisee site via a link, you will be directed to that Franchisee’s website and their collection of your personal information will be governed by that Franchisee’s privacy policy. We encourage you to review the Franchisee’s privacy notices to learn more about what information is collected, how it is used, shared, and stored.
In addition, when you visit a Gold’s Gym location owned by an independently operated Franchisee, or otherwise provide your information to a Franchisee, you provide your information directly to the Franchisee and are subject to their privacy practices and policies. The Franchisee determines how your information may be collected, used, and shared, including for the purpose of providing you with requested services and products, and marketing. Additionally, the Franchisee may share some of your information with Gold’s Gym.
If you are a member of a Franchisee gym, all privacy-related inquiries and requests should be directed to the local Gold’s Gym Franchise gym directly.
We retain your personal information as necessary to provide our Sites and Services or our business and commercial purposes for collecting your Personal Data. When establishing a retention period for specific categories of information, we consider several factors, including our purposes for processing information, whether we are legally required to retain information, and the sensitivity of the Personal Data.
In some cases, we retain Personal Data for longer, including if doing so is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes or collect fees owed, provide our Services, or is otherwise permitted or required by applicable law, rule or regulation. We may also retain information in a de-identified and/or aggregated form.
We may use information that has been de-identified or aggregated for various business purposes. In such cases, we commit to maintaining this data in a de-identified state (except solely to test, research, or validate the effectiveness of our de-identification methods), ensuring it cannot reasonably be linked to any individual, and we require recipients of such data to uphold these same standards.
We have implemented reasonable physical, administrative, and technical safeguards to maintain the security, confidentiality, and integrity of your information. However, as no transmission of information over the internet is absolutely secure, we cannot guarantee the safety of your information.
Our Sites are not directed at anyone under the age of thirteen (13); and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of thirteen (13), except in limited instances where a parent or guardian provides information about their child for Gold’s kid’s club childcare services, such as their child’s name, gender, and date of birth. If we become aware of a child under the age of 13 providing personal information directly to us, we will delete such data.
The rights in this section apply to all users of our Services. However, some users may be entitled to additional rights under their state’s laws. As explained in our supplemental State Privacy Notice, in certain jurisdictions, you have certain rights, including the right to request access and receive information about personal information we maintain about you, even if you are not a member, to update and correct inaccuracies in your personal information, or to have the information deleted. 10.1 Choosing Do Not Sell or Share Your Information
You may opt out of selling or sharing of your personal information by clicking the link labeled “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” on any Gold’s Gym web page.
You may also opt out of the sharing of your personal information through an opt-out preference signal setting in your browser, such as Global Privacy Control. When we receive a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the collection and sharing of the user’s personal information collected while the signal is present. In order to process your request through an opt-out preference signal, you must use a browser supporting the preference signal. However, if you provide your information to a third party authorized by Gold’s for their own use, or if said third party otherwise collects your information as part of your interactions with them, then their use of your information will be subject to their privacy statement or notice, rather than ours.
Similarly, information you provide to an independently operated Franchise-owned Gold’s Gym location(s) or site(s) is subject to the independent Franchisee’s privacy notice and not ours. For more information see Section 8 below Franchisee Privacy Policies.
10.2 Your Communications and Opt-Out Options
Email Communications: We may periodically send you email communications or otherwise contact you about new products, services, or upcoming events. If you wish to be removed from our email communications list you may click the unique link in the email to update your preferences, or you may contact Gold’s Gym by using one of the methods listed (email, phone, or mail) in our contact information at the bottom of this page.
Text Communications: We may periodically send text communications in accordance with our Mobile Messaging Terms located in the Gold’s Gym online Terms & Conditions. If you wish to opt-out from Gold’s Gym text messages, you can reply STOP, QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL OR UNSUBSCRIBE to any message you receive from us. After opting out you may receive an additional message confirming that your request has been processed.
We may send surveys via text message to current gym members on behalf of our Franchisees. However, any other text messages, including marketing communications, you receive from any of our Franchisees are made by them as an independently owned and operated Franchise. We are not responsible for the content, timing, or delivery, and do not control the marketing and communications practices of Franchisees.
10.3 Interest-Based Ads and Choosing Do Not Track
Self-regulatory industry organizations such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) offer browser-based opt-out tools for the companies that participate in them. Please visit the DAA’s AdChoices site for more information: https://youradchoices.com/control.
10.4 Access and Corrections to Your Information
You can access or correct your membership information by visiting https://members.goldsgym.com/ and selecting “Sign In” to access your account and request changes.
Gold’s Gym and it, or its service providers, may process, transfer, and store information about our users on servers located in different jurisdictions, including in the United States. In some of these locations, data protection laws may be less stringent than in your jurisdiction. To ensure that your personal information is adequately protected and as required by applicable law, we may transfer your personal information subject to suitable safeguards being in place.
As noted above, depending on the U.S. state in which you reside, the laws in your state may provide you with additional rights regarding our collection and use of your personal information. To learn more about your state’s privacy rights, visit the supplemental State Privacy Notice.
We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Notice at any time without prior notice by posting a revised version of the policy on the Sites and Services. If we make material changes to this Policy, we will notify you by temporarily noting “UPDATED” next to the Privacy Notice link in the footer of our Sites or directly communicating with you via email or your account. Your use of the Sites or Services following revision to this Privacy Notice constitutes your agreement that all information collected from or about you after the revised policy is posted will be subject to the terms and conditions of the revised policy.
